Exploitation of the Fears of Communism + Reorganization of the Nazi Party

He used propaganda to spread fear about the aims of the Communists. He said that the communists were only interested in disorder and starting a revolution in Germany. The communists would take away the rich people such as the landowners’ and leading industrialists’ property away and give them to the workers. Hitler also stressed that the Nazi Party was the only political party that could provide order and prevent the communists from setting up a communist dictatorship like the one in Russia. As a result, many rich people gave financial support to the Nazis as they wanted an anti-communist government.

.People in Germany heard that the government in Soviet Union had taken away farmers’ lands and personal properties, and big businesses had been taken over by the state. Additionally, people in Soviet Union were living under the fears of Communism for the Secret Police, the forced camps and the elimination of anti-communist elements. Thus, the farmers and businessmen of Germany feared that they would suffer from the rule of the Communists. Some industrialists also feared of communists, and then financially support the Nazi Party in order to prevent their personal properties and industries from being taken away by the state in future.

Hitler exploited people’s fears of the communism with the aim to rise to power. He vaguely promises people who feared the rule of the communists that he would help them if he gained the right to make decisions. Hence, people who feared the communism in Germany supported Hitler and contributed to his rise to power.

When Hitler was released from jail he knew he needed to seize power soon.  But he also realized that his party's structure suffered as a result of his incarceration.  Hitler began a rapid and strong reorganization of the Nazi Party.

The Nazis grew out of a small right-wing party, which Hitler took over after 1919. He developed a Twenty-Five Point Programme based on hatred, and built up a paramilitary group (the SA) to defend his meetings and attack other parties.

The Nazis appealed to a wide range of people, but especially the 'middling' sort of people, and the party grew rapidly in the years of crisis 1919-1923.

After the disaster of the Munich Putsch, and during the prosperity of the Stresemann years, however, support for the Nazis fell. During this time Hitler believed that he could be elected to power. He used these years to develop and strengthen the party's organisation.

The party was divided into 2 political organizations by Hitler. One of them was dedicated to study and understand the democracy with the aim of overthrowing the German democratic republic through valid processes. Another one was allocated to create a highly organized government in waiting within the republic, which would replace it when time was right. The well reorganization of the Nazi Party by Hitler contributed to his rise to power very much. In addition to increasing the Party membership and establishing the Stormtroops and the Schutz-Staffel, Hitler also made good use of Nazi propaganda. Through all these processes, within in ten years Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany.
